How to Submit Your Poems

Guidelines and Instructions

Send Poems via Email

Send your poems via email to anaheimpoetlaureate@gmail.com. 

Subject should include: APR Submission - your name

Up to 3

Send up to three poems for selection into Anaheim Poetry Review.

Unpublished Work

We are only accepting poems that are new and unpublished. Please do not submit poems that have been shared in any print media, including social media and personal blogs.

Poem Length

While there are NO restrictions on length, poets are encouraged to send shorter work so that more poets can be included in the anthology. 

Include a Cover Letter

Include a brief cover letter, a 100-word third-person bio, and how you are connected to the City of Anaheim.

No. Submission is free. Poets don’t need to pay to participate.


Contributing poets receive a complimentary copy of the anthology at publication. There is no cash payment.


Anaheim Poetry Review takes only the first right of publication. Following our publication, the poet retains full copyright ownership and control of his/her poem(s).


Writers will receive their personal copies and additional copies to share. Anaheim Poetry Review will not be available for sale to the general public. However, it will be in Anaheim public libraries to read. 


Yes, selected poems in the issue will be nominated for Best of the Net and Pushcart Prize
